International Congress of Interventional Neurology continues to evolve and expand. The timing of the meeting concurs with the publication of the results of Multicentre Randomized Clinical Trial of Endovascular Treatment in the Netherlands (MR CLEAN). MR CLEAN was a pragmatic phase III multicenter randomized clinical trial with blinded outcome assessment comparing endovascular treatment (intra-arterial thrombolysis, mechanical treatment or both) with optimal medical management. The results prompt a reconsideration of endovascular treatment of acute ischemic stroke. The field of interventional neurology has proliferated across the world. Several countries have seen incorporation of neurologists in this exciting field. The field continues to evolve and non endovascular applications of interventional neurology such as epidural procedures and sympathetic ganglion modulations are increasing. The meeting is an invitation for all to join a forum of thought leaders and trail blazers and the journey to our ultimate destination of “together we can conquer stoke”.
